What Every Animal in Our Care Receives
We partner with overwhelmed shelters, rural pounds, law-enforcement cases, and families in crisis. Every dog or cat that enters our care receives:
- Immediate safety and crisis stabilization
- Full veterinary care, including vaccines, testing, spay/neuter, emergency treatment, and ongoing medical support
- Behavioral rehabilitation, confidence building, socialization, and decompression
- Placement into loving foster homes whenever possible
- A lifelong promise: if they ever lose their home, they always have a place with us
Heartworm Compassion Program
We run a dedicated Heartworm Compassion Program that welcomes heartworm-positive dogs most rescues turn away, giving them the full medical treatment, rest, and foster care they deserve until they are healthy and ready for their forever families.
In-Kind Supply Donations (Northlake & Chicagoland)
We gratefully accept wire crates, unopened dog or cat food, martingale collars, harnesses, blankets, and toys for our foster homes! Email dogismyshepherd@yahoo.com to coordinate local drop-off or shipping instructions, or bring donated supplies to any of our upcoming public events.
